VIRTUAL SCHOOL GAMES

On Friday 3rd July we would have been competing in the School Games in many different sports and activities. Our school usually do very well in this competition and have been County winners in sports such as cricket, basketball, mountain biking etc.  However as we are unable to compete at the moment the School Games Organisers have arranged a virtual competition. All of the details are below.

School Games Organisers will be running a Virtual School Games on Friday 3rd July with some very simple activities that require very little equipment so can be done both at home or in school.  The guidance for the activities can be found in the documents below.  The organisers have managed to get a host of well know faces/celebrities on board and they will be helping to promote the Games on their social media platforms Facebook & Twitter and on the County Virtual School Games webpage.

 There are five challenges:

  • The Keepy Up Challenge
  • Target Practice
  • Throw & Catch
  • Gymnastics one foot balance
  • Star Jumps

*We are having an inter-school participation competition, for every challenge completed and submitted by a pupil will earn 1 point for their school – max of 6 points per pupil*

The age categories for Secondary Schools are Year 7-8 and then Years 9-13.

For the more creative ones out there we have also put together a photography competition based around the School Games Values, Determination, Honesty, Respect, Passion, Teamwork and Self Belief.

The Opening ceremony will take place on Friday morning at 10am, followed by a warm up videos from LK Health & Wellbeing and Joanne Banks Dancers.  After this you will have until 5pm on Friday 3rd July to upload your results to the website

Feel free to use the hashtag - #CDVSG20

The focus of the Virtual Games is on taking part and beating your Personal Best!
